Tarragona (Spain) - Athlete Yahya Berrabah offered Morocco its tenth gold medal at the 18th Mediterranean Games, which run in the Spanish city of Tarragona from June 22 until July 1, after winning the long jump event at Campclar Athletics Stadium on Saturday evening.
Berrabah, African champion in 2008 in Addis Ababa, won with a mark of 8m02, ahead of the Algerian Mohamed Triki Yasser (8.01) and the French Yann Randrianasolo (7.90).
It is the 8th gold medal of Moroccan athletics in this competition and the 10th in general, after those of Abdesslam Ameknassi in karate and Lamine Ouahab in tennis.
