Algeria's Population Reaches 38.7 Million

Algeria recorded 963,000 living births, 168,000 deaths and 388,000 marriages last year, according to ONS.

 

The demographic situation in 2013 was mainly marked by a decline in the number of living births and deaths, a slight drop in child mortality and a significant rise in the number of marriages.

 

The ONS expects population to increase to 39.5 million by Jan 1, 2015.
