Rabat - Morocco is taking all military and security measures to permanently protect its borders especially to the east, Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Interior, Cherki Drais said on Tuesday.
Speaking at a question session at the Upper House, Drais gave an overview of the measures taken to reinforce the security of the eastern region mentioning in particular the ongoing construction of a border security fence along the borders with Algeria as well as the increase in border posts and checkpoints.
In this respect, Drais praised the efforts led by the Royal Armed Forces and other security services including auxiliary forces, the Royal gendarmerie, the police and the domestic intelligence.
When asked about the national strategy against human trafficking, Drais said that the figures provided by the Ministry of the Interior show that the issue is being tackled with the required resolve and determination.
