During his meeting with the British ambassador, Amara said that the implementation of the "Emergence" strategy has allowed Morocco to target businesses and to expand its range to various sectors, including chemicals and special chemicals, saying the Kingdom "stands as a competitive industrial base for foreign investors," according to a ministry statement which arrived on Monday at MAP.
For this purpose, the minister said that Morocco opts for innovation and added value, urging Britain to invest more, arguing that "innovation is not the preserve of a large country."
On this point, Amara and the Ambassador of Great Britain emphasised the need for a "pragmatic partnership" focused on new energy, training, education and industry in its various forms, for the expansion of project cooperation.
For his part, the British ambassador affirmed that the United Kingdom would bring its expertise and boost trade and investment. For this purpose, the Board of the Moroccan-British Business Council (MBBC) will be revitalised to support this bilateral commitment should offer new promising opportunities at various levels.
The amount of trade between Morocco and Britain had fallen following the financial crisis and is now on an uptrend. In 2011, Moroccan exports to the EU countries amounted to more than 4.41 billion dirhams, while imports totaled nearly $ 7.2 billion.
