Rabat - The fire that broke out last Saturday in a forest in the Amskroud commune (50 km eastern Agadir) is about to be extinguished except for some few flames, major general Abdelkrim Yaacoubi, inspector general of the civil defense told MAP.

Gen. Yacoubi said, in a phone call, that all human and technical means were mobilized to contain this forest fire.
Operations to put out the fire included the intervention by seven Moroccan aircrafts and two Spanish fire-fighting planes as part of Moroccan-Spanish cooperation.
Similar fire in the same forest destroyed in 2011 around 180 hectares.
