"The majority of NGOs and the public perceive CNDH as a credible and proactive body dedicated to the protection of human rights, and a tool which strives to address individual cases," notes the report.

In September, the United States welcomed the report of the National Council for Human Rights, which aims to improve the legal framework in four areas relating to refugees and asylum seekers, illegal immigration, and human trafficking.
