Rabat - The Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (Masen) on Thursday announced the launch of a call for expressions of interest (CEI) for building the first phase of Noor Midelt solar plant, which will end on February 1st, 2016.
Alongside the projects launched in Ouarzazate, Laayoune and Boujdour, Masen begins the development of the first phase of the Noor Midelt solar plant ("NoorM I"), the Agency pointed out in a statement.
This phase is expected to include one or more hybrid technology plants, combining CSP (solar thermal) and PV (photovoltaic), of an installed capacity of around 400 MW per plant, says Masen.
NOOR Midelt projects will deploy IPP scheme (independent power production), and developers will be selected through an international tender in several stages, for design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of these plants.
