Coronavirus: National Monitoring and Response Plan Remains Perfectly Adapted (Ministry of Health)

Rabat - The national monitoring and response plan to the coronavirus remains perfectly adapted to the situation, the ministry of Health said Friday, adding that no additional measures are to be taken. "The national monitoring and response plan to the coronavirus remains perfectly adapted to this situation, with its four axes, namely epidemiological and medical monitoring actions, early detection and epidemiological and virological investigation, medical care and coordination between all stakeholders," the ministry pointed out in a release.

To avoid exposure to this virus, the ministry recommends people to wash their hands very often, cover their mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing and to avoid close contact with patients with symptoms of respiratory infection. "No case of the disease has been so far reported in our country," said the ministry, adding that the three suspected cases reported by the National System of Epidemiological Watch and Surveillance have tested negative for the new coronavirus.

The ministry said it will continue to provide information on the latest developments of the situation and on the measures taken by health authorities. The World Health Organization declared a global health emergency on Thursday as the coronavirus outbreak spread well beyond China, where it emerged last month.
