New York (UN) - Danish minister of Foreign Affairs Martin Lidegaard welcomed Tuesday in New York Morocco's efforts aimed at eradicating all forms of torture.
"Morocco has made very good work" in fighting against torture, Danish Chief diplomat told journalists following a meeting on the Convention against Torture Initiative (CTI) held on the sidelines of the 69th UN General Assembly.
Danish minister also hailed Morocco's willingness to continue efforts to promote human rights, welcoming the Kingdom's decision to join the CTI.
CTI was launched in March upon an initiative by the governments of Morocco, Chili, Denmark, Ghana and Indonesia to mark the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention against Torture (UNCAT).
