Rabat - Ambassador and head of the EU delegation in Rabat Rupert Joy hailed the adoption of the Morocco-EU fisheries agreement which is a key stage towards the enforcement of the agreement offering mutual benefits and very serious guarantees at the level of the resources' sustainability.
The new EU-Morocco fisheries protocol, approved by the European Parliament and adopted by the Council of Ministers before its adoption by the two houses of the Moroccan Parliament, provides for a total financial compensation of 160 million over 4 years. This new generation protocol offers enhanced scientific cooperation with a key role for the Fisheries Research Institute of Morocco that makes sure that no species is overexploited.
