Food Products: 370 Violations from April 1 to 19

Rabat - The interventions by the joint provincial and local control commissions, carried out during the period from April 1 to 19, 2020, led to the observation of 370 price and quality violations in food products. These interventions involved 25,000 wholesale and retail outlets and storage warehouses, said Monday the Department of General Affairs and Governance under the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Administration Reform in a press release published at the end of the meeting of the interministerial committee for monitoring supply, prices and quality control operations.

The violations include 274 offenses for failure to display prices, 54 for non-presentation of invoices, 23 for illegal increases in regulated prices, 06 for non-compliance with quality and hygiene standards, in addition to 13 other miscellaneous offenses, said the same source, adding that regulatory measures have been taken against the offenders. As for the quality of the goods and products stored or presented for sale, the joint commissions have seized and destroyed around 164 tonnes of goods unfit for consumption, the press release said.
