Tangiers - A forest fire that went on Saturday night in a forest near Tangiers, was put off after it ravaged around 4 hectares of plants, said on Sunday the local representative of the High-Commission for water, forests and the fights against desertification.
The official explained that investigation was opened to determine the cause of the fire which could have been devastating as the forest is located close to residential areas in addition to the existence of strong winds, inflammable plants and excessive heat.
In addition to the fire fighters, local authorities and the High-Commission elements, voluntary persons from the region were there to give a help.
