Health Emergency: Exceptional Promotion for Police Sergeant Seriously Injured by Extremist Individual

Rabat - The Director General of National Security has decided to award an exceptional promotion to a police sergeant who had been physically assaulted and seriously injured by an extremist individual, while performing his duty and ensuring the implementation of health emergency rules in the city of Boujaad.

Following this decision, the injured policeman was promoted to the rank of chief brigadier, while receiving a financial reward and a certificate of recognition for his immense sacrifices and his high professional sense, National Security (DGSN) said in a release, adding that it was also decided to pay all the expenses of his medical care, hospitalization and medical assistance.

The DGSN Director General has also decided to pay a financial reward to his colleague, a police inspector, and send him a message of congratulations in recognition of his high professionalism which led to the arrest of the suspect involved in the attempted premeditated murder of the injured police officer, the source added.

These administrative decisions are part of the determination of DGSN to pay tribute to its officials, who have always shown dedication and made great sacrifices in order to preserve national security and safeguard the safety of citizens, the source pointed out.
