House of Representatives: Interior Committee Adopts Decree Law on State of Health Emergency

Rabat - The Committee of the Interior, Local Authorities, Housing and Urban Policy at the House of Representatives on Wednesday unanimously adopted the bill No. 23.20 approving decree-law No. 2.20.292 issued on 28 Rajab 1441 (23 March 2020) on the provisions relating to the state of health emergency and the procedures for its declaration.

The bill, which was presented by minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, completes the procedure provided for by the Constitution, in particular Article 81, by submitting the aforementioned decree-law to Parliament for approval.

It also comes after the publication in the Official Gazette number 6867-bis of 24 March 2020 of the decree-law on the provisions relating to the state of health emergency and the procedures for its declaration, a text that was unanimously adopted by the two Committees concerned at the House of Representatives and the House of Advisors on 23 March 2020.
