Rabat - Police services in the northern city of Asilah foiled on Wednesday an illegal immigration attempt by some sub-Saharan citizens onboard an inflatable boat, the national police (DGSN) said.
This attempt was thwarted when one of them presented a forged ID, said a statement by the police, adding that this person has a criminal record and was facilitating the illegal immigration attempt for the eight sub-Saharan individuals.
The boat was seized during this operation and the accused along with the eight would-be immigrants were brought to the public prosecutor's department, it added.
