The National Forces Alliance, led by former interim Prime Minister Mahmoud Jibril, has won 39 out of the 80 seats reserved for political parties, local media say.

The Muslim Brotherhood's party has gained 17.The 200-member National Assembly will also include independent candidates who number 120 and it remains to be seen who they will support and if there will be a majority for the liberals or the islamists.The turnout was 62 per cent of the registered voters.
