Marrakech - The international airport of Marrakech Menara has set a record in 2014 with over 4 million travellers, said a statement of the national airport office (ONDA).
The number of passengers who used the airport last year stood at 4,034,410 against 3,828,518 in 2013 that is a 5.38 increase, ONDA said.
This performance is ascribed to a 7% rise in domestic flights to Marrakech and 5.3% increase in international arrivals following the opening of new air routes from Europe by new airlines.
Europeans continue to account for the majority of arrivals with 95% of total flights to Marrakech with France accounting for 42% of air connections.
