Lisbon - Moroccan international Mehdi Carcela signed a four-year contract with Benfica after leaving Belgian club Standard de Liège, Benfica's website announced Saturday.
The Morocco international has been with the Belgian club for two spells since 2008 on either side of a two-season stint with Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.
Carcela has joined his countryman Adel Taarabt who has just signed a five-year contract for the Portuguese club.
