Rabat - Morocco and France signed on Monday an agreement on unaccompanied children, as the number of Moroccan minors in France is expanding due to illegal immigration. The agreement was signed by Moroccan Minister of Justice Mohamed Benabdelkader and his French counterpart Eric Dupond-Moretti in Rabat. It will facilitate the identification of those children, official news agency MAP reported.
It will allow the French juvenile magistrates to have essential information to take the "most appropriate measures in the interests of the concerned children," the agency said. Dupond-Moretti also held talks with Moroccan Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit and Director of Public Prosecutions Mohamed Abdennabaoui. Talking to reporters after the meetings, Dupond-Moretti hailed the cooperation between the two countries in the fight against terrorism and organized crime.
