Morocco expresses its concern at the "proliferation" of networks linked to al-Qaida

Morocco has expressed this Saturday, January 19, concern about the "proliferation" of networks linked to Al-Qaeda in the kingdom. These concerns come after the break for the fifth time since last fall recruitment cell of Al-Qaeda in the kingdom.

"The proliferation of terrorist networks in enabling the recruitment of young Moroccans steeped in jihadist thought (...) is now a source of concern at the security level," said the Interior Ministry in a statement the agency MAP.
 
The managers of these cells, including the ones dismantled in Tangier and Meknes aimed to send these young people to achieve "the 'jihad' within terrorist organizations linked to al-Qaeda," it said, without specifying the countries concerned.
 
The investigation determined that 40 young Moroccans had been sent to "factions linked to al-Qaida," he assured the ministry, adding that among these particular people were "two former US camp inmatesin  Guantanamo" at Cuba, reports Le Monde.
