Rabat - Morocco's annual consumer price inflation eased to 0.4 percent in December from 1 percent in November, with declines for prices of communications and education, the high planning authority said on Wednesday.

Food price inflation was steady at 0.7 percent from a year earlier, while the non-food index rose to 1.3 percent from 1.1 percent. Communication costs fell 9.3 percent, while education prices eased by 3.5 percent, the agency said.
On a monthly basis, consumer price inflation decreased 0.1 percent. The food price index fell 0.5 percent and the non-food index was up 0.2 percent.
Inflation for 2013 as a whole was 1.9 percent, up from 1.3 percent in 2012, the authority said.
