Palestinian Cause Has Always Been at the Heart of Morocco's Concerns

Cairo - Morocco has consistently defended the Palestinian cause, which has always been at the center of the Kingdom's concerns, while calling for the establishment of an independent Palestinian State, with Al-Quds East as its capital, said adviser to the Palestinian president on religious affairs and relations with Islamic countries, Mahmoud al-Habbash.

The efforts made by the Kingdom, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, in support of the Palestinian issue are not a novelty, because Morocco's positions have been constant in favor of this cause that it has always defended in international and regional foras, he told MAP on Wednesday.

According to him, Morocco has never deviated from the unanimous Arab stance towards the Palestinian question, based on the acceptance and support of all that is approved by the Palestinians themselves, expressing his esteem for the position expressed by Morocco alongside Palestine, especially in "these difficult and critical circumstances in the history of the Palestinian people, after the announcement by the US administration of a new unilateral peace plan".

The resolution of the Palestinian question is the key to stability in the Middle East, he stressed.

In addition to the sustained political backing, he highlighted the Kingdom's social and economic support to Palestine, noting that the efforts and initiatives of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, under the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by HM King Mohammed VI, are irrefutable proof of the scope and value of Moroccan support to the Palestinian question.
