Police Seize 311 kg of kif, 25 kg of Tobacco Eastern Central Morocco

Rabat - The judicial police of the eastern central city of Goulmima (Errachidia province) seized, on Thursday morning, a commercial vehicle loaded with 311 kilograms of kif and 25 kilograms of powdered tobacco.

According to a statement by the national police (DGSN), security elements had intercepted the vehicle after its driver and companion abandoned it in the "Ksar Igharghar" area, about 4 kilometers from the town of Goulmima on their way to the town of Er-Rich.

Search operations led to the discovery inside the car of the quantities of drugs, the statement said, adding that a judicial investigation had been opened under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, with a view to identifying all persons involved in the possession and trafficking of drugs seized and determining possible links with criminal networks.

This case is part of the joint operations conducted by the national police to combat international trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances.
