President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika had a transient ischemic attack Saturday at 12:30 am without after-effects,announced Director of the National Centre of Sports Medicine, Professor Rachid Bougherbal,according to APS
"The first investigations have been already carried out and the President of the Republic needs rest before continuing examinations," he added, while reassuring that "there is no worry" about his condition.
Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal also said that the President's condition was not serious. The state news agency
has reported that the President has been flown to Paris and is reported to be in Val de Grace Hospital where he is undergoing tests.
