Prison Administration Denies Allegations of Hunger Strike by Detainees Held as Part of Al Hoceima Events

Rabat - The General Delegation for prison administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) denied on Saturday allegations of a hunger strike by some of the detainees held as part of Al Hoceima events at the local prisons of Ras El-Ma in Fez and Guercif. The hunger strike allegations broadcast by some electronic websites and social networks "are baseless", the General Delegation pointed out in a statement, adding that these detainees "take their meals on a regular basis".

"Conveying these false allegations is part of the campaign led by some parties that claim to defend these prisoners through pushing them into going on hunger strike in order to take exploit their situation to serve an agenda which has no connection with the interests of these people," the source added.
