Rabat - The 2nd edition of the African Peace and Security Annual Conference (APSACO) will take place in Rabat on June 18-19 at the initiative of the OCP Policy Center.
The event, held under the theme “Peacekeeping Operations across Africa: Trends and Challenges”, will be marked by the participation of experts from more than 20 countries, organizers said in a press release.
The conference aims to look at the prospects and opportunities of the "spectrum of peace and security", ranging from prevention to stabilization by exploring ways for effective protection of vulnerable people.
The two-day event will also focus on the intersection between the UN (politico-strategic and operational dimensions) and the AU (role in the management of African conflicts) in order to update on the one hand the complexity of maintaining peace in its current configuration, and on the other hand, the challenges of the AU ownership of peacekeeping and stabilization.
The OCP Policy Center is a Moroccan policy-oriented think tank based in Rabat, Morocco, striving to promote knowledge sharing and to contribute to an enriched reflection on key economic and international relations issues.
