Rabat - 20 people were killed and 1,213 were injured in the 922 road accidents that occurred in urban areas last week, the Moroccan police said on Wednesday.
These accidents were mainly ascribed mainly to excessive speeding, pedestrian and driver's inadvertence and driving under the influence of alcohol, the Moroccan police said in a statement.
Over 22,948 traffic tickets were issued by the police during the same week. The sum of fines paid by road traffic violators stood at 6,309,500 dirhams, the same source said.
