Paris: Nicolas Sarkozy remains the undisputed favorite for the UMP presidential election of 2017 (63%), far ahead of François Fillon whose star continues to fade (11%), according to an Ifop poll of current values released on Tuesday.

More than six out of ten supporters prefer the former president, while they were 56% in March.
His former Prime Minister, who collected 17% in March, is now cited by 11% of respondents to be the UMP candidate for the next presidential election.
Followed by Alain Juppé (9%, stable), Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet (4%, -1), Jean-Francois Cope (3%, -1), Bruno Le Maire (2%, -2), Laurent Wauquiez (2 %, +1). Xavier Bertrand and Valerie Pécresse are mentioned by 1% of supporters.
Four percent (3) of the latter do not wish to see any contenders to compete for president in 2017.
The survey was conducted online from April 2 to 5 with 55 supporters of the UMP, extracted from a combination of two samples totaling 3,014 individuals aged 18 years and over.
