Rabat - A single-engine Mirage F1 of the Royal Air Forces crashed Monday six kilometers south of Sidi Slimane Air Base, the General Inspectorate of Royal Armed Forces said.

Back from a training mission, the landing Mirage F1 collided with a flock of large birds, which caused the flame-out of the engine, the Press Department of the General Inspectorate of Royal Armed Forces pointed out in a statement.
The pilot managed to eject safely, the statement said, adding that the crash occurred in an uninhabited area.
