Tangier: Arrest of Three Individuals for Involvement in Case of Possession and Trafficking of Drugs

Rabat – The Tangier judicial police arrested on Tuesday three individuals, including two repeat offenders, for their alleged involvement in a case of possession and trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.

The arrest of the three suspects, aged between 27 and 32 years, took place in the rural area of "Sidi Kankouche", near Tangier, said in a statement by the national police (DGSN), noting that the searches conducted at the home of one of the individuals resulted in the seizure of 1,880 tablets of psychotropic substances, a commercial vehicle, a knife and a tear gas canister.

The Checking operation in the DGSN database revealed that two of the three individuals are the subject of national search warrants issued by the judicial police services of Casablanca, Rabat and Temara for their involvement in drug cases.

The suspects have been placed in police custody to complete the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, with a view to determining all the criminal acts of which they are accused and identifying all possible partners and accomplices in this criminal activity, the statement concluded.
