Tangier Med, Impressive Port Hub, Vice-president of French Senate

Tangier - The Tangier Med platform is an impressive port, logistical and industrial hub, said, on Saturday in Tangier, first vice-president of the French Senate Phillipe Dallier. The Tangier Med port, which serves 174 ports worldwide, has witnessed a large expansion of sea traffic since it became operational in 2007, the French senator told MAP, during a visit to the said port, on the sidelines of the 3rd Morocco-France Parliamentary Forum, under the theme "The Moroccan-French Partnership: African Prospects".

Dallier, who was part of a delegation of French senators who came to learn about the development of Morocco, also emphasized the potential for economic development with more than 800 companies operating in several strategic sectors, which have generated about 70,000 jobs, noting that the capacity of the port will be further strengthened with the extension of Tangier Med II which will be operational very soon. He also said he was impressed by the port's interconnection with railways and roads, including the upcoming high speed rail.
