New York (UN) - The Moroccan candidate Hynd Ayoubi Idrissi was re-elected for a new term as a member of the Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) following the elections held, on Friday in New York, on the occasion of the 17th Meeting of States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Competing against 13 candidates for the 9 vacant seats on the Committee, Hynd Ayoubi Idrissi was elected in the first round with 160 out of 193 votes, the highest score.
This outstanding success of the Moroccan candidacy testifies to the credibility enjoyed by the Kingdom among the UN Member States and is an acknowledgment of the efforts made by Morocco under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI in the field of the promotion and protection of human rights.
