Copenhagen Chief Rabbi Highlights Tolerance between Jews and Muslims in Morocco

Copenhagen - Chief Rabbi of Copenhagen, Jair Melchior, has highlighted the tradition of tolerance and coexistence between Jews and Muslims in Morocco which constitutes a source of pride for the Kingdom. The renewal of relations between Morocco and Israel is part of this tradition which is the pride of the Kingdom, he told MAP, expressing the wish that "confidence and hope will help to overcome decades of hatred and suspicion between Israel and the Arab countries".

Chief Rabbi Jair Melchior reported on "a long and wonderful conversation about the current political situation in Morocco and that of the Jewish community in Denmark" with the Kingdom's ambassador to Copenhagen Ms. Khadija Rouissi. He expressed the hope that "every person, regardless of place of residence, race or religion, will experience freedom, security and tolerance."
